Erin Olson, PhD
My early experiences as an early childhood educator impressed upon me the importance of early intervention, appropriate and positive parenting, and well-trained educators and interventionists. My training as an educational psychologist and clinical experience with children with challenging behaviors, learning differences, and autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders has informed my evaluation, therapy, and consultation practices. I value individual differences and focus on the strengths of children and their families. With an understanding that change is often difficult, I support children and their parents/caregivers through collaboration without judgement.
As a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington, I have met educational, supervised training, and examination requirements. I have a doctoral degree from the University of Washington and completed supervised training experiences with UW Center for Human Development and Disability, UW Parenting Clinic, UW Autism Center, and Seattle Children's Hospital. Professionally, I provide educator and parent trainings, consult with local schools, conduct research regarding evidence-based practices, and co-created the Boyden Autism Center at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. In addition to my private practice, I currently teach assessment and diagnostic coursework in the UW School Psychology Department and am an interdisciplinary diagnostic team member at the UW Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Diagnostic and Prevention Network (FAS-DPN).
